About Stylish Names

👋 Who Runs This Site

Stylish Names is built and maintained by Sohail Nasir, an independent web developer who has spent years building small, free browser tools. What started as a weekend experiment with Unicode text became this site after friends kept asking for "that font thing" to decorate their gaming nicknames and Instagram bios. Every guide on the blog is written and edited by Sohail.

The current site is a full rebuild, launched in February 2026, of an older WordPress site that previously lived on this domain.

✨ What This Site Does

Stylish Names converts ordinary text into styled Unicode — cursive, gothic, bubble, small caps, and hundreds of other looks — that you can paste into game profiles, social media bios, and chat apps. Because the output is made of real Unicode characters (not images or installed fonts), it survives copy-and-paste almost anywhere. Alongside the generator there are focused tools for invisible text, zalgo effects, symbols, and a compatibility checker.

🛠️ How Our Content Is Made

Two different things power this site, and we think it's worth being transparent about both:

  • The font conversion is algorithmic. When you type a name, the generator maps each letter to its styled Unicode equivalent using character tables we maintain by hand. Nothing you type is sent to a server — it all happens in your browser.
  • The ready-made name lists and guides are curated. The name ideas on category pages and the platform guides (character limits, rename steps, which symbols survive in which apps) are researched, written, and updated by a person — and corrected when readers report something has changed.
