Blackletter is one of the oldest letterforms still in everyday use. Gutenberg set his 42-line Bible in it around 1455, German newspapers printed in Fraktur well into the twentieth century, and the same dense, angular strokes now carry metal band logos, tattoo lettering, and streetwear labels. Converting a name here borrows that whole lineage as copyable text.

What the converter actually outputs

The tool maps A–Z onto the Fraktur alphabets Unicode added for mathematicians, who use blackletter letters for things like Lie algebras and ideals. Two weights are available: regular Fraktur, which renders "Dark Raven" as 𝔇𝔞𝔯𝔨 ℜ𝔞𝔳𝔢𝔫, and bold Fraktur — 𝕯𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝕽𝖆𝖛𝖊𝖓 — which most people know as Old English. Wrapped in one of the ornamental frames it becomes something like ꧁☠𝕽𝖊𝖆𝖕𝖊𝖗☠꧂, a look you will recognize from half the lobbies in Free Fire and PUBG.

A quirk worth knowing: in the regular weight, the capitals ℭ, ℌ, ℑ, ℜ, and ℨ come from an older Unicode block — they were encoded decades earlier as math operators, ℜ literally means "real part" — so a few fonts draw them with slightly different proportions than their neighbours. The bold weight is a complete matched set and avoids this entirely.

An honest limitation

Lowercase Fraktur gets genuinely hard to read below roughly bio-text size: 𝔨, 𝔱, and 𝔣 start to blur together, and the regular weight loses its hairlines on low-resolution screens. If a name has to stay legible in a small nickname slot, use the bold weight and keep it short. There are also no Fraktur digits anywhere in Unicode, so numbers pass through unchanged — the number styler can dress those separately.
