Which fields take fancy text (and which never will)

A Tumblr blog still works like the hand-decorated homepages it descends from: your name lives in several places at once, and each spot has its own tolerance for Unicode:

• Blog URL — plain letters, numbers, and hyphens only, 32 characters at most. No Unicode, ever, because it doubles as your web address. This plain name is also what appears beside your posts and in every reblog chain.
• Blog title — full Unicode. Script, blackletter, fullwidth, stars, kaomoji: everything sticks. It shows at the top of your blog, in the hover card on desktop, and in the app's blog header.
• Description — equally Unicode-friendly, and the traditional home of a divider line like ⋆ ˚｡⋆୨୧˚ between your pronouns, your fandoms, and your "asks open."
• Posts and asks — pasted Unicode works, but the post editor already has native bold, strikethrough, a small-text option, and a few text colors, so save fancy characters for looks the editor can't produce.

The consequence worth sitting with: on Tumblr, a styled name is scenery, not signature. Reblogs credit your plain URL. The title sets a mood; the URL keeps you findable.

Decorating "moonlit archive" from URL to tags

Say you're opening a poetry sideblog. The URL must stay plain — moonlit-archive, hyphen and all. The title can be ☾ 𝔪𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔩𝔦𝔱 𝔞𝔯𝔠𝔥𝔦𝔳𝔢 ⋆, since blackletter reads beautifully against a dark theme; the gothic text style builds it letter for letter.
